KPKKT is committed to managing the tropical rainforest resources within the Dungun Timber Complex (DTC) and Cherul Forest Concession (CFC) as a well-managed forest in accordance with FSC certification standards. This effort is part of our mission to realize the concept of Sustainable Forest Management (SFM), guided by the protocols of the Malaysia Selective Management System (SMS).

Kumpulan Pengurusan Kayu Kayan Trengganu Sdn. Bhd.(KPKKT) is the “Forest Manager” of a long term forest concession of approximately 126,274 hectares of Rich Natural Tropical Rain Forest (TRF) in the State of Terengganu in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

KPKKT are very confident to be able to do this and complete the cycle while at the same time meet the high standard of FSC®

Forest of Stewardship Council

The FSC Principles and Criteria describe how the forests have to be managed to meet the social, economic, ecological, cultural and spiritual needs of present and future generations. They include managerial aspects as well as environmental and social requirements. In fact FSC rules are the strictest and FSC’s social and environmental requirements the highest. These 10 principles and 56 criteria form the basis for all FSC forest management standards. Based on these 10 principles, the FSC has developed further rules (called policies or standards) that further define and explain certain requirements stipulated in the 10 principles
